BEFORE Hair: “Jacinna has thin hair that was slightly over processed. Between consistently wearing her hair in a ponytail and chemical damage, she started to experience a lot of breakage,” explains Ambermag.com hair expert Marvin Carrington, who is also the master stylist and manager at Indra Salon in New York City.
The goal: “I wanted her to have a stylish look that allowed her options other than a ponytail," says Marvin.
Look OneHair: “Her hair was cut in a layered bob, ” explains Marvin, stressing that bobs are one of the best solutions to give fine hair more volume. "I worked in Barry Fletcher's Glow and Grow cream and blew her hair dry. For the first look, I flat ironed her hair under, giving it a soft bend and finished with a little Biosilk by Farouk.Style: Senior market editor Joan Van Hees dressed her in a sleeveless, deep V-neck sweater for a casual, yet sexy appeal.
Makeup: Orlando Santiago used an airbrush to apply foundation to give her a light finish. He gave her a fresh look with nude lips and natural eyeshadow.The results? “I love it,” says Jacinna beaming. “At first I wasn’t sure if I should cut my hair, but I love how it turned out. I look so different now."
LOOK TWOHair: "For a second look, I curled her ends upward to create flicks, and styled it with my fingers with a touch of Bedhead pomade from TiGi," added Marvin.Style: An adorable sheer lace, sleeveless top paired with studd earrings for instant star power.
Makeup: To complement her sexy top, Orlando gave Jacinna a classic smoky eye and nude lip combo.The results?: "I really like this lip color. I'm definitely going to use it more. I love the whole look," says Jacinna.
